JAMMU, Apr 9: The Government teachers and other staff of Education Department are without salary for the month of March.
The aggrieved teachers from district Samba and Udhampur area told the Excelsior that Lt Governor has released 50% of the total Budget in advance for the Financial year 2021-22. But ironically, it is better known to the authorities of Education Department at the helm of affairs that till date no budget has been released to the line Departments of the Education Department. The Government employees who are sole dependent on their monthly salary are being deprived of the legitimate right for no fault on their part.
Pertinent to mention here that in view of ensuing festival of Navratras which is just few days away, everybody is expecting an early release of its salary for the month of March 2021 but despite of strenuous efforts of the Government to release the 50% of the total budget, employees are not being paid their due salaries.
Director School Education Jammu, Dr Ravi Shanker when contacted said that Government has already release 50 % of the budget. There should not be any problem in any district of sub division. If any delay has been caused in releasing salary anywhere, it will be at the level of concerned DDOs.He assured to look into the matter and ensure disbursement of salary to the teachers by maximum April 12 or 13.
