KATHUA, Sept 11: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has expressed serious concern over the recent visit of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh DyCM and Ch Lal Singh for announcement to establish second Tourism Development Authority and Nursing College at Basohli during inaugural function of Model Higher Secondary School Basohli.
Dr Sharma criticized the discriminatory approach of present Coalition Government particularly with people of Billawar for each and every decision taken by this Government like establishment of Model High Secondary School at Basohli is good step but there is already Navodaya Vidyala existing adjoining to the Higher Secondary School at Basohli. Why the Higher Secondary School Billawar or Bhaddu are not developed as the model HS Schools in spite of demand of general public.
The Congress leader reminded that there is already a Tourism Development Authority functioning in Basohli namely Lakhanpur – Basohli – Sarthal Tourism Development Authority which caters the whole area of Basohli constituency. This authority established during the period of former Chief Minister, Gulam Nabi Azad during Cong and PDP Coalition Government but it is very unfortunate that second Tourism Development Authority for Basohli was announced by the Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed on Thursday in presence of DyCM Dr Nirmal Singh.
Instead of announcing second authority in Basohli for tourism development it was much better to announce the establishment of Tourism Development Authority for Billawar making balancing act. He said the religious tourism already exists in Billawar particularly Shri Sukrala Mata ji and Shri Bala Sundri Mata and historic Shiv Mandir of Billawar town. Thousands of devotees visit these Holy shrines but there is lack of basic amenities and tourism infrastructure. This is question of great concern that why the representative of Billawar Dr Nirmal Singh remained a mock spectator during this announcement either he is having much more interest in Basohli and completely surrendered the interest of Billawar or he is so weak and inefficient to plead the justified demands of Billawar people.
Dr Sharma strongly opposed the demand projected by Ch Lal Singh, MLA Basohli and Health Minister for creating Basohli district during the inaugural function of Model HSS Basohli before CM Mufti Mohd Sayeed. Dr Sharma warned the Government and Bhartiya Janata Party to refrain from such unjustified decisions otherwise the people of Billawar will be forced to launch a massive agitation.
