MENDHAR, Sept 5: Government Primary School (GPS), Hundi Sandote, Zone Balakote, which almost lies near the LoC, sans building despite the fact that funds for the same was issued by the authorities in 2003.
According to the reports, in 2003, some walls were erected on the site, which also got damaged with time as the ceiling was not done and now there exists only a kitchen room. The students of the school, which are 45 in number, are bound to sit in the open sky, whenever school opens, as being close to LoC, the school remain closed most of the days.
There are three teachers in the school, who rarely visit. As the school sans building, during rainy days, hot sunny days and during firing from across the border, the school remains closed.
The concerned Lambardar and parents of the children held the then (in 2003) ZEO responsible for alleged bungling of funds meant for the building of the school and demanded that an FIR be registered in the case and inquiry conducted and whosoever is found guilty, punished according to the law.
