GR8 Kashmir willow cricket bats sparkle in Women T20 World Cup

Srinagar, Oct 4: Jammu and Kashmir has added another feather in its cap by supplying cricket bats made of Kashmir Willow by GR8 Sports India Private Ltd. to international cricket players in the Women T20 World Cup being played in Dubai.
Three international players of West Indies Qiana Joseph, Zaida James and Aaliyah played with the bats and other gear of GR8 Sports in the T20 World Cup match against South Africa at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
However, the Shamilia Connell of West Indies did not bat as their team made 118 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs.
The flamboyant West Indies opener Qiana Joseph took the field wielding a blade crafted from Kashmir Willow, marking another significant milestone for both the GR8 Sports and the region.
For the past three Men’s T20 World Cup, GR8 cricket bats and other gears have been used by several international cricket players. Two international players of Oman played with the cricket bats and other gear made in J&K by GR8 Sports in the Men’s T20 World Cup match against Namibia at the Kensington Oval on June 4 this year.
“Many other players representing different countries in the World Cup will also be seen playing with the equipment made by GR8 Sports Kashmir in near future,” Managing Director GR8 Sports Fawzul Kabiir said.

He said bats for women cricketers underwent a number of tests with the implementation of innovative techniques and methodological procedures over the last 4 Years. This was carried out using AI Based Innovative Machinery to a desirable extent.
Kabiir said the company’s focus remains on blending craftsmanship with research and modern technology, ensuring the products meet the highest standards of performance and quality.
He said that there are around 400 bat manufacturing units in the industrial area from Sangam to Awantipora in south Kashmir and the GR8 products line represents the entire bat industry bringing a sense of achievement among one and all. (Agencies)
