Green Field Cricket Academy outplays Country CA by virtue of 1st innings lead

JAMMU, Jan 24: Green Field Cricket Academy outplayed Country Cricket Academy by virtue of first innings lead as the 2-day match ended in a draw at Country Cricket Academy Ground, Gharota, near here today.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 20/1, Country Academy scored 120 runs in 36.4 overs, thus helping Green Field Academy to gain a vital first innings lead. Marutvan was the top scorer with 37 runs, while Akarsh, Manik and Surya contributed 19, 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For Green Field CA, left-arm spinner, Vishal was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 5 important wickets, while Tayab Farooq and Anmol claimed 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Green Field Academy, in their second essay were 78/8 when the stumps were drawn on the final day today. Harshpreet was the top scorer with 20 runs. Right-arm off-spinner Marutvan was the pick of the bowlers claiming 4 wickets, while Kanav took 2 wickets. Arastu and Ashu picked one wicket each. Vishal and Marutvan were declared joint winners of the man of the match award.
Earlier, Green Field Academy had scored 141 runs in their first innings in 43 overs on day-one.
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Vivek Sharma, former Ranji Trophy player and Director Country Cricket Academy.
