Green Shaheen seals berth in finals, MCC enters semis of Gufran T20

DODA, July 27: Drubbing their rivals in semifinals and quarterfinals respectively, Green Shaheen Cricket Club Doda and Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah sailed into finals and semifinals respectively in the ongoing All India 13th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2017, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda, J&K Police, J&K Bank and Green Model Hr Sec School Doda.
Earlier, in the first quarter final match, after winning the toss, MCC Bhaderwah team set a target of 171 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs with the brilliant contribution of 112 runs by Nikhil Khatri and 17 runs by Abid Pathan. From Raina Cricket Club Bhaderwah, Kuldeep Kumar scalped 2 wickets while Rohit Sharma and Rahil Singh shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, RCC Bhaderwah scored 152 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Rohan Koul was the top scorer with 37 runs, while Rohit Sharma contributed 24 runs to the total. From MCC Bhaderwah, Adil scalped 3 wickets, while Chand and Abid Pathan shared 2 wickets each. Nikhil Khatri of Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah team was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant batting performance.
In another match, the first semifinal of the Tournament, batting first after winning the toss, GSCC Doda set a target of 168 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Nazir Malik was the top scorer with 84 runs while Asrar Dev contributed 17 runs. From Asraria Cricket Club Kishtwar, Vishal Rana took 3 wickets while Amir Bhagwan claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, ACC Kishtwar bundled out for 149 runs in 19.2 overs with the contribution of 45 runs by Amir Naqeeb and 25 runs by Shabir Ahmed. From GSCC Doda, Amir Wani bagged 3 wickets, while Rasik Dar and Amir Nabi shared 2 wickets each.
Amir Wani of Green Shaheen Cricket Club Doda was adjudged as the man of the match for his magnificent bowling performance who was given prize by 2IC 10 RR Lt Col Alok Partap Singh, ACR Doda Tariq Hussain Naik, President Chenab Valley Doctors Association Dr Hamid Parray, Sr Journalists Syed Riaz and Saidullah Rangrez.
The matches were officiated by Ifroz Rather and Munish Zutshi as umpires, while Milind Gore and Waseem Raja maintained the scorebook.
