GRP SI arrested for duping jeweller

JAMMU, June 3: A Sub Inspector (SI) of Government Railway Police (GRP) has been arrested for duping a jeweller.
As per police sources, SI GRP namely Ajay Singh, son of Balwan Singh, a resident of Garhi, district Udhampur along with his four associates promised a jeweller of Jain Bazaar namely Hemu Ghosla of providing him gold on cheaper rates and took away Rs 4 lakh from the jeweller.
Later, the jeweller lodged a complaint against the persons at Pacca Danga police station stating that five persons including aforesaid SI had duped him of Rs 4 lakh on the pretext of proving him gold on cheaper rates.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 64/16 under Section 420 and 120-B RPC was registered at Pacca Danga police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
Police arrested three persons, who were bailed out earlier and SI Ajay Singh among two persons were evading their arrest, but SI got nabbed by the Pacca Danga police today and recovery to the tune of Rs 20,000 was affected from him.
Manhunt is going on to nab the absconding accused.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Ajay Bhat made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Vivek Shekhar Sharma and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
