NEW DELHI, Aug 21: Guargum prices recovered by Rs 240 to Rs 8,200 per quintal in futures trading today largely on the back of covering-up of short positions by participants.
Besides, pick up in export demand influenced guargum prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum delivery for October rallied by Rs 240, or 3.02 per cent to Rs 8,200 per quintal, with an open interest of 16,661 lots.
Also, guargum for delivery in November was trading higher by Rs 240 or 2.97 per cent at Rs 8,310 per quintal, in an open interest of 7,654 lots.
Marketmen attributed recovery in guargum prices at futures trade to covering-up of short positions by speculators and rising domestic as well as export demand at spot markets. (PTI)
