Gupta inaugurates 2nd J&K Masters Cricket C’ship

JAMMU, Oct. 23: Arun Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce and Industry and J&K Veterans Cricket Association inaugurated the 2nd Masters Cricket Championship here today.   The Championship is being organized by Jammu & Kashmir Veterans Cricket Association under the aegis of Veterans Cricket India and supported by J&K Police.
DIG Railway Jammu Haseeb Ur Rehman, Rashid Bhat SSP, Rajesh Gill Former Ranji Player & Avinash Uttam (event coordinators), Ashish Singh M.D. Horizon group of companies, Rajesh Gupta Secretary CCI, Amir Almansoor CPO, Vikrant Sharma and Dy.SP Sagar Singh among many other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
In the opening match Honey Buzzy Bee Royals defeated BMRC Superkings. Batting first BMRC Superkings scored 96 runs for all wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Deepak Sharma 45 runs and Vikas 33 runs were the main scorers. In reply Honey Buzzy Bee Royals chased the target in 8.3 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Surinder Kachru was declared as man of the match.
In another match WOC Auto Daredevils defeated KAP Smashers by 10  wickets. Batting First KAP Smashers scored 111 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.  In reply WOC Auto Daredevils chased the target in 9.5 overs without losing any wicket thus won the match by 10 wickets, Rajesh Gill and Raj Kumar scored unbeaten 49 runs each. Rajesh Gill declared man of the match.
In another match, Nishal Jewellers Stars defeated Janta Sports Rangers by 19 runs. Batting first Nishal Jewellers Stars scored 136 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply Janta Sports Rangers managed to score 117 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Manjeet Singh was declared as man of the match for scoring 84 runs.
In another match, Sunbro Warriors defeated JKAC Tigers by 6 wickets. Batting first JKAC Tigers scored 131 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Ashwani Sharma was declared as man of the match for scoring 48 runs.
Arun Gupta lauded the efforts of executive members and coordinators of the Championship in conducting this mega event at Jammu. Gupta also announced that national and international matches shall be organized for the Senior Cricketers of UT of Jammu & Kashmir at Jammu in the near future.
