JAMMU, May 8: Former MLC and senior National Conference (NC) leader Rattan Lal Gupta today sought evacuation of J&K medicos from Russia.
“Students pursuing professional courses in various parts of the country and abroad including Russia are needed to be evacuated to bring some relief to them and their families”, Gupta said in a statement.
He also sought expeditious and well coordinated return of stranded people, including pilgrims, patients, labourers, students etc to their homes, saying, the process initiated in this regard should be taken to logical conclusion by addressing to each segment.
“Many people have got stuck at various destinations after the first lockdown on March 25 and they have suffered hugely in the wake of the outbreak of pandemic,” he said, adding, the extraordinary situation has impacted every segment of society but the plight of those away from their homes is all the more precarious. They need compassion and all assistance, wherever they are, Gupta asserted.
