Gurdaspur Club wins U-21 Knockout Hockey tourney

JAMMU, Nov 3: The Under-21 Men’s Six-a-Side Knockout Hockey Tournament, dedicated to the memory of the late Harbans Singh concluded today with an exciting final at Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club. Gurdaspur Club registered victory over Bandhu Rakh Senior Club with a thrilling score of 5-4, showcasing the skill and determination of young athletes.
Daljeet Singh was awarded Man of the Match for his exceptional performance, contributing significantly to his team’s success. The tournament was attended by chief guest Rajiv Sharma, a member of the J&K Sports Council, alongside dignitaries Pawan Kumar, Satpal Singh, and P.P. Singh, who celebrated the players’ achievements.
Local community leaders, including Pradman Singh and Jodh Singh, were present to support the teams, fostering a vibrant atmosphere. Match officials Tanishpreet Singh and Jagjeet Singh oversaw the proceedings, ensuring a fair contest.
For their efforts, Gurdaspur Club received a cash prize of Rs 11,000 and the champion’s trophy, while Bandhu Rakh Senior Club was awarded Rs 5,100 and runner-up trophy.
