JAMMU, Oct 27: The Sikh leader Gurdayal Singh Bali, who was sitting on fast unto death demanding justice for 1984 Sikh victims and punishment for the accused, today broke the fast after the assurance of justice given by ruling party.
He broke the fast by taking a glass of juice by Sant Tejvant Singh Ji (Dannay Walay) and Virinderjit Singh. After breaking the fast, he said I will continue to fight for the justice of 1984 victims and if I die, my son will carry on the fight for justice and then may be his son. Every generation will fight, as this is an incident we will never forget,” Bali said.
He lamented that despite recommendations of Nanavati Commission, successive Congress Governments shielded the high ranking Congress leaders from prosecution for their role in November 1984. “Since BJP is now in power at Delhi, victims demand that cases should be filed against Kamal Nath, Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler”, he added.
