Gurjot’s brilliant hat-trick helps PHC to blank BBSBC

POONCH, Nov 5: A splendid hat-trick by Gurjot Singh helped Power House Club (PHC) to thrash Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Club (BBSBC) by six goals to nil (6-0) to enter into the finals of the District Poonch Sub Junior Boys Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey Poonch, under the aegis of Hockey J&K at Sports Stadium, here.
Now, in the summit clash, Power House Club will take on Stadium Orange at the same venue tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semifinals, PHC rode on a magnificent hat-trick by Gurjot Singh, who pelted the goals in 15th, 22nd and 52nd minutes of the match to finally defeat their rivals by (6-0). Tushar, Saval and Ishtiaq were the other scorers for PHC, who scored a goal each in 11th, 13th and 28th minutes of the match respectively.
The BBSBC players had no answer to the ploy and tactics adopted by the formidable PHC team.
The match was officiated by Mukesh Kumar, NIS hockey coach and Kavaldeep Singh, while Talvinder Pal Singh and Vikas Sharma were the technical officials.
Nirdosh Kumar, In-charge Sports Stadium, Poonch was the chief guest in the today’s proceedings, while the matches are being held under the overall supervision of SAI hockey coach, Sham Lal Sharma.
