JAMMU, July 22: Guru Purnima, which, is also known as Viyas Purnima was celebrated with traditional religious fervour and gaiety throughout Jammu region today.
A large number of devotees thronged the various Guru ashrams throughout the region to participate in the Guru Purnima celebrations and pay their obeisance and respects to their Gurus.
In connection with Guru Purnima celebrations a grand function was held at Asa Ram Bapu Ashram at Bhagwati Nagar where a large number of devotees drawn from different parts of the region participated and paid obeisance to Param Sant Asa Ram Ji Bapu.
Another function was held at Bapu Ji’s Ashram Rajouri. The function was jointly organized by Bapu Ashram Youth Seva Sangh (YSS) and Bapu Asaram Ashram. The celebrations started with Asaramayan Paath and Paduka Pujan. The devotees including men, women and children were served Prashad after the Guru Pujan.
Guru Purnima was also celebrated with full devotion and traditional religious fervour by the devotees of Bhagavaanji at Bhagavaan Gopinath Ashram Udaywala Bohri today.
A large number of devotees thronged the Ashram early in the morning to participate in the celebrations and pay their obeisance to Bhagavaanji.
The function started with Paduka Poojan which was followed by recitation of Ashtotar Shatnamavali 10 times, few shalokas of Guru Gita and performance of Pusharchana.
The Bhagavaanji’s Ashrams at Kharyar Srinagar in Kashmir Valley, Salal in Reasi, Delhi and other places also celebrated the Guru Purnima.
The Spiritual Awareness Society of India (SASI) celebrated the Guru Purnima at Radha’s Bhawan Vijay Nagar, Talab Tillo today in which a large number of devotees from Punjab, Haryana, Udhampur, Reasi and Jammu districts participated.
On the occasion Param Sant, Dr Krishana Ji Maharaj apprised the significance of Guru Purnima to the devotees.
Guru Purnima was celebrated in a unique way at Gareeb Dham Anand Nagar Bohri. The celebrations which actually commenced on July 20 culminated today. The special feature of this year was the dharm Sabha in which various issues pertaining to religion and society were discussed.
Giving religious discourses Gurudev Anand Swami Bhaiji said the dharma in sum and substance teaches us religious quality leading to globalization and at the same time extols us to stand up fearlessly for preserving the sanctity of dharma.
In connection with celebration of Guru Purnima a grand function was organized by Kashmiri Sahayak Samiti Trikuta Nagar in the Sai Mandir of KP Bhawan today where a large number of devotees participated.
The function started with Kakad Arti, Abhishekh and Pushp Archana early in the morning and culminated with distribution of Prashad by the Samiti.
Guru Purnima was celebrated at Shri Pushkara Swami Sewa Ashram Chinore and Najafgarh Delhi today. Hundreds of devotees participated in the celebrations in the two ashrams to pay their obeisance to Guru. Bhajan Kirtan was also held which was followed by serving of prashad to devotees.
In connection with celebration of Guru Purnima a grand function was organized at Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram, Muthi today in which a large number of devotees drawn from different parts of city participated.
The devotees besides paying obeisance to their Guru participated in Bhajan and Kirtan which was followed by serving of prashad to devotees.
On the occasion Swami Kumar Ji threw light on the significance of Guru and Guru Purnima.
Hundreds of devotees thronged the Maharaj Purshotam Achariya Ashram here today to participate in the Guru Purnima celebrations. The devotees besides paying obeisance to Guru Ji Maharaj also participated in Bhajan Kirtan which was followed by serving of Prashad to them.
Guru Purnima was celebrated with full religious fervour and gaiety at Sidh Ganesh Ashram Rama Krishan Vihar Udyawala Bohri in which a large number of devotees participated. Satish Kumar Raina on the occasion led the devotees in Guru Pujan and paid obeisance to Guru Raman Giri Ji Maharaj in absentia.
Guru Purnima was also celebrated at Sharika Peeth Subash Nagar where a large number of devotees participated in the celebrations.
M K Jalali president of the organization highlighted the significance of Guru Purnima on the occasion.
Guru Purnima was celebrated with religious fervor in Bhadarwah and main function was held in Guru Ravi Das temple Zanana village of Drodu. Bhajan Kirtan, religious discourses and Pooja was organized by Guru Ravi Dass Sabha.
Thousands of devotees participated in the function and free langer was also served to them. The devotees were in long queues for hours together to pay their obeisance to Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj.
