SRINAGAR, Nov 25: Sikh community today celebrated the 547th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with traditional enthusiasm and religious fervor across Kashmir while a mega function was held at Gurudwara Chatti Padshahi here.
Reports said people of the Sikh community were seen thronging the Gurudwara Chatti Padshahi at Rainawari where special Shabdh and Kirtan were performed.
The Sikh community woke up early in the morning and visited Gurudwaras, where community feasts were arranged.
Children, men, women, old and young of the community wearing colorful dresses were visiting Gurudwaras from the wee hours of this morning in the Valley, the reports added.
Meanwhile, similar functions were also organized at Baramulla, Tral, Pulwama, Jawahar Nagar, Barzulla and other places in the valley. Muslims and Kashmiri Pandits were seen greeting their Sikh brethren.
