JAMMU, Apr 15: A three-day Gymnastics Aerobic Judges Course, organized by the Gymnastics Federation of India (GFI) in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Gymnastics Association (JKGA), concluded today. The course aimed to enhance judging standards in aerobic gymnastics in line with International Gymnastics Federation (IGF) guidelines.
The training was attended by over 39 participants from across India. They were mentored by Y. Ranjan Singh (Course Expert) and Tejinder Singh (Course Coordinator), both nominated by GFI. The course provided comprehensive knowledge on judging techniques, rules, and competition protocols. On successful completion, participants were certified to officiate at national-level competitions.
Kiran Wattal, President JKGA, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He stated that the course marks a significant step in developing a pool of qualified judges in Jammu and Kashmir and boosting the sport’s growth in the region. He also lauded the enthusiasm and commitment of the participants.
Wattal extended gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his continuous efforts in promoting sports and building a strong sports ecosystem in the Union Territory. He also acknowledged the vital role of the J&K Youth Services and Sports Department and the J&K Sports Council in supporting gymnastics and other disciplines.
Wattal appreciated the Union Government’s financial support and also acknowledged the support received from the UT Government and Sports Minister Satish Sharma. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between Government bodies, sports organizations and individuals in promoting gymnastics in J&K.
