JAMMU, Apr 5: In an effort to boost Gymnastics in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, Gymnastics Association of Jammu & Kashmir has chosen to send top gymnast Muskan Rana, a native of J&K, to Baku, Azerbaijan for training. The training will commence from April 7 to 24 where Muskan will undergo training with internationally acclaimed gymnasts of Azerbaijan.
Gymnastics Association of J&K will pay all of her training costs, including airfare, lodging, and other related expenses. Today, in the presence of her coaches and parents, the Gymnastics Association of J&K President and officials presented Muskan with a cheque.
In order to help her succeed and win awards at the International Arena in the future, the Association has taken the initiative to support and improve her performance, according to Association President Er Kiran Wattal.
According to him, Muskan is the top gymnast in the country and has repeatedly shown her talent by winning medals for J&K. During the Indian Gymnasts’ trials at Gurugram last month, Muskan won the top spot in the senior’s category. Prior to that, Muskan had won five individual medals at the most recent Khelo India Youth Games.
The President of J&K Association and Vice President of the Gymnastics Federation of India also commended her coach, Krupali Singh, for her ongoing training and efforts in developing her abilities and performance to a higher level. He also expressed gratitude and admiration for the J&K administration, led by LG J&K Manoj Sinha, for setting up a top-notch gymnastics academy that enabled J&K athletes to compete internationally. He also expressed gratitude to Nuzhat Gull, Secretary of the Sports Council, for providing all the necessary logistical and morale support to elevate sports in J&K, especially Gymnastics.
