JAMMU, Jan 24: A half Marathon (5 kms) was organized under the aegis of NCC Gp HQ, Jammu for the cadets of NCC, here today.
A total of 170 NCC Cadets which includes 65 girl cadets from prominent colleges of Jammu participated in it.
The event started from Balidan Stambh where it was flagged off by Brig Rajan Jamwal, Gp Cdr, NCC Gp HQ Jammu and covered Dogra Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Balmiki Chowk, Khalsa Chowk, Green Belt Park and terminated at Green Fields Ground.
Brig Rajan Jamwal, Gp Cdr, NCC Gp HQ Jammu distributed the prizes among the winners on the occasion. Cadet Nilza from Govt Women College, Gandhi Nagar and Cadet Juhi Charak from Govt Women College, Parade were declared first and second respectively in Senior Women category whereas Cadet Md Nadeem and Cadet Doorjai both from MAM College were declared first and second respectively in Senior Division category.
Jammu Traffic Police and the Health Department assisted NCC in an effective manner in the conduct of the Half Marathon.
