BARAMULLA, Oct 26: Hamre Star Football Club lifted Intra-District trophy here by defeating Magam XI in a thrilling contest, here today.
The match went undecided even in the extra time as both the sides fought hard for the trophy.
However, the match was finally decided by the penalty shoot outs.
A large number of people including school children and eminent personalities witnessed the final.
Brigadier A K Tyagi, Commander 10-Sector RR was the chief guest on the occasion, who later-on gave away the prizes to the winners and runners up teams.
Altaf Hussain of Magam XI was adjudged best players of the tournament and Mudassir Ahmad Bhat of Hamre Star got the highest scorer prize.
Mudasir Ahmad Teli of of Magam XI was adudged best goal keeper of the tournament. The younger player of the tournament award was bagged by Master Hakim Abdul Majid of Hamre Star.
A large number of army and civil administration officials were present on the occasion. The tournament was organized by 52 RR of 10 sector RR under the aegis of Kilo Force.
