Udhampur, Oct 5: 3-day Handball Championship, organized by District Handball Association Udhampur concluded at Mini Stadium, here today.
Rakesh Jamwal, Joint Director Planning Udhampur was the chief guest on the concluding function, while Ashwani Raina, general secretary J&K Handball Association, Rajinder Kumar, chairman Selection Committee J&K Handball Association and Sandeep Verma Press Secretary were the guests of honour.
The Championship was organized under the supervision of Satish Chopra, Manager Sports Stadium Udhampur. Former Handball players of District Udhampur namely Vikram Singh Salathia, Arun Mehta, Satish Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Rakesh Gupta, Arun Gupta and Suresh Khajuria provided support and cooperation to the Association in making the Championship a grand success.
Among others who were present on the occasion were Raj Guru, president Volleyball Association District Udhampur, Ravi Singh Jaswal, general secretary and Vipin Photra, organizing secretary of District Udhampur Handball Association.
The final match in women section was played between Braham Rishi Bawra Club Udhampur and KC Gurukul Handball Club in which Braham Rishi Bawra Club Udhampur defeated KC Gurukul Handball Club by (11-04).
In the men’s section, Parveen Handball Club Udhampur outplayed Braham Rishi Bawra Club Udhampur by (32-25) goals.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Sharma, Manmeet Singh Rishi Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Vikrant Balgotra, Sourabh Pandit, Ajit Singh and Sanjay Kumar.
