Handball, Speedball competitions get underway

JAMMU, Aug 11: The District Level Inter-School Under-19 boys and girls competitions in the disciplines of Handball and Speedball began at Mini Stadium and District Headquarters, here today.
Sukhdev Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Udhampur was the chief guest on the inaugural function.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of its Director General, Navin Agarwal.
The matches are being conducted under the supervision of Poonam Sharma, Activity Incharge.
In Handball, Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth, Udhampur emerged winner, while in Speedball Solo Men’s, Sudanshu Sharma was declared winner and Abhishek of Govt HSS Boys was runners-up.
In Speedball Men’s singles, Navneet Gupta of Govt HSS Boys, Udhampur emerged winner and Kousahal Kumar of Common Public School Udhampur was the runners-up.
In Men’s doubles, Sanjay and Anikt Khajuria were declared winner, while Bharghav and Raman Kumar were runners-up.
In Men’s Group, Sanjay Dogra of Common Public School Udhampur emerged winner and Anil Kumar Baloria of BBSV Peeth was the runners-up.
The matches were officiated by Ravi Singh, Ajay Sharma, Rishi Kumar Sharma and Nitin Rathore.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Poonam Sharma, Anita Goswami, Mulkh Raj Jaju, Swarndeep Singh, Ramesh Chander, Sanjeev Kumar and Karun Magotra.
