Hanumant outplays Anant in U-12 cadet boys final

JAMMU, May 10: Hanumant got better of Anant Rohmetra in a close contest by (11-9, 12-10, 11-9) to claim Under-12 cadet boys title in the ongoing 1st Stag Jammu Open Table Tennis Championship, being organized under the supervision of Ramesh Magotra, senior table tennis coach and Menu, here.
In U-14 sub junior boys semifinals, Anant Rohmetra drubbed Akhilesh Khajuria by (11-7, 11-8), while Hanumant beat Ashwin by (11-4, 11-9).
In Under-14 sub junior girls, Ashmeet beat Iknoor Kour by (11-7, 8-11, 11-8), while in Under-17 junior boys, Ritvik Gupta beat Tanypreet Singh by (11-9, 11-8, 11-9) and Asad trounced Ketan Sharma by (11-9, 11-8, 11-7).
Earlier, former State Champion, Ajay Sharma visited the Academy alongwith other senior player Satbir Singh (former India No 1 Juniors) and watched the cadet boys match between Anant and Hanumant.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ajay lauded the efforts of I P Singh for successfully conducting the Championship and opening of the Stag Table Tennis Academy and said that the Academy will certainly help in uplifting the game of Table Tennis in the State.
