Happy Model School Udhampur organises Annual Sports Meet

UDHAMPUR, Feb 25: To celebrate Health, Happiness & Harmony, the students of Happy Model School, Udhampur organised Annual Sports Day with zeal and zest in the Mahatma Gandhi Grounds of the school.
On the occasion, Deputy commissioner Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest while CPO Ashok Khajuria, CEO JR Bhardwaj, DYSSO Sudesh Chalotra and CEO Municiplaity Santosh Kotwal were the guests of honour.
The event started with the Welcome Group song presented by the students of 9th class. It was followed by unfurling of the National Tri Colour by the chief guest  who also took salute of the 12 troops of the School March Past squads.
The 12 troops displayed different themes, like save the girl child, clean India – Green India , Swacchhtaa Hi Sewa Hai , Communal  Harmony,  Long Live The Brave Soldiers of India, One India – Strong India, Clean Up Devika,  Hum sab Ek hai  etc.   This was followed by Oath administered by Ankita and Neha.
In the sports event, there were 18 different kinds of races in which 206 students of the school played in the finals.
Cindrella Race, Hop Race, Healthy India Race, Catch Me Race, 200 mtrs, 100 mtrs, 200 mtrs relay race etc.
The three top  winners in each race  were felicitated by the chief guest, guests of honour and the School Principal with specially prepared Merit Cards  and Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.
On the occasion the school cultural committee presented Several Indian Folk dances including  Saraswati Dance, Madrasi Dance, Kashmiri, Gojri, Dogri and Punjabi dances. The dance items were outstanding in Costumes, dance acts and expression.
The school Principal Dr Mineesh Gulati presented the vote of thanks, while the programme was compeered by Neha and Ankita, besides sports coaching was provided by Anshu Khanna and Jyoti Rajput under the overall leadership of Dr Vikram Gulati.
