Harjeet Sethi outplays Sunil Gurkha in final

JAMMU, Jan 7: Harjeet Sethi defeated Sunil Gurkha in the above 60 years singles final of the ongoing selection trials/competitions to pick the veteran Badminton State team for 43rd Indian Masters (Veteran) National Badminton Championship to be held at Goa from January 28 to February 3, 2019.
In another singles final of above 55 years, Ramesh Sharma got the better of Anil Gurkha by (21-19, 21-17).
In above 45 years doubles, the duo of Lalit Arora and Pawanjeet Singh drubbed the pair of Sanjeev Arora and Nazneen Chisti in the finals by (21-13, 19-21, 23-21), while in above 50 doubles final, the pair of Pankaj Sharma and Ashish Sharma trounced the duo of Vivek Slathia and Indu Bhushan by (21-14, 14-21, 21-15) and in above 55 doubles final, Ramesh Sharma and Anil Gurkha defeated Narinder Khajuria and Ravinder Gupta by (21-19, 21-17).
Meanwhile, in semifinal matches of different age groups, Vikas Sharma trounced Anil Khajuria, Narinder Singh beat Rajinder Singh, Gurvinder Singh prevailed over Sanjay Thusoo, Pooran Chand trounced Sumit Sharma, Sanjeev Arora outclassed Sanjeev Salthia and Chanchal Singh outplayed Sukhdev Singh.
The matches are being held under the supervision of Satpal Sharma, SAI Coach and Balbir Jamwal, General Secretary JKBA.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vikas Sharma, Ashish Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Pawanjit Singh, Preeti Gupta, Puran Chand, Sanjeev Arora and Nazneen Chisti.
