Harmony Foundation releases Album on Sayil’s Aahee, confers annual awards

JAMMU, Feb 4: Harmony Cultural Foundation in association with Harmony India organized a grand function at Abhinav Theatre here this evening to celebrate its fifth anniversary and also recalled the role of great poet and writer, P N Kaul Sayil on his birth anniversary which also falls on today.
On the occasion, a cultural programme was also held in the jam-packed hall of Abhinav Theatre where the renowned and well known artists made the audience spell bound by singing songs written by late poet Sayil.
But it was melodious singer from Tinsel City, Mumbai, Neeraja Pandit who mesmerized the audience by singing a Sofi Kalam of the legendary singer of Medieval India Amir Khusroo “Chaap Tilkak Sab Cheeni re-mo se naina Milai key’and the audience gave a thunderous ovation to her.
Sayil’s song sung by Deepali Wattal was no less mesmerizing while songs of Sayil sung by Dilip Langoo, Gautam Raina and Sushma Kalla left an indelible mark on every one present in the function.
Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion while the function was also graced by IGP, J P Singh, Dr , Dr Agnishekhar a well known writer, film maker, Ashok Pandit, Sushi Pandit, Karan Wattal convener Vishay Kashmiri Samar, president, Sheri Amaranth Yare Welfare Society, Gymnastic Association of the State and ex Municipal Commissioner, Dr Yudhvir Gupta, convener J&K Civil Society,Aditya Raj, News Editor Republic TV, Rakish Kaul president Sampooran Kashmir Sangthan, Rakesh Roshan Bhat Director Umedh, Anil Bhat, Bureau Chief PTI, King C Bharti, spokesman APMCC, Saurabh Zadoo organizer of the show, Ramesh Zadoo, Sanjay Saraf president Lok Janshakti Youth Wing, K K Khosa president K B Sabha and Ramesh Hangloo Director Radio Sharda, Dr R L Shant, well known scholar M K Yogi president Minority Cell NC and Rakesh Pardesi president PDP Migrant Cell.
The programme was hosted by Kusum Tickoo, Ravinder Kaul and Bindiya Raina Tikoo.
On the occasion Harmony Cultural Foundation conferred the Harmony India Awardss 2019 in various categories of Literature, Art, Music, social service and journalism. Besides, a new and Unique Kashmiri Album Aahee based on Sayil’s poetry book was released.
The poetry is representation of Kashmiri Pandits marriage tradition depicting the ethos and grandeur of traditional rituals performed specially during the marriage time. The album features 10 songs on Kashmiri marriage tradition like Mehendiraat, Devgon, Yagnopavit, Lagan (Khander), Ghar Achun, Maalune etc.
With the music of traditional forms like Rauf, Chakri, Vanvun, Sufiyana etc showcasing the wide variety of Kashmiriyat with different melodious voices of Kashmiri artists, the songs have been composed and designed into musical form with traditional folk instruments and rhythm patterns by singer composer Saurabh Zadoo.
