JAMMU/SRINAGAR, June 1: Creating history in Softball, Harvinder Singh, son of the soil became the first person from Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to be appointed as Coach of Indian Senior Men Softball Team which is going to participate in Asia Cup (Men) Senior Softball Championship in Japan from June 25 to 28.
Resident of Model Town, Gangyal area of Jammu district, Harvinder, a former Softball player & NIS Certified Softball Coach from Jammu and Kashmir, is in this field since 1995.
Under his coaching, many teams won laurels at Club, District & State levels. He previously coached Jammu and Kashmir State Team and presently playing has an important role for the promotion of Softball Sport in the UT.
He has been imparting coaching in Softball since 2006 and was also Captain of J&K Softball team.
“Harvinder’s appointment as Coach of National team will definitely boost the morale of Jammu & Kashmir Softball players,” said Waseem Raja Khan, general secretary J&K Softball Association.
Indian National Senior Men Softball team is departing from New Delhi for Japan on June 23, 2023 under the banner of Softball Association of India.
