Haryana Club clears league round, SCC registers berth in semis

JAMMU, Nov 22: Haryana Cricket Club has cleared the league matches round and entered next stage, while Samar Cricket Club (SCC) defeated rival team and registered berth in the semis of the 7th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup, being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with Simula Cricket Club, KC Sports Club and Vishal Cricket Club, here today.
In today’s matches, Ranjeet Kalra Member JKCA and Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs Government of Lakshadweep was the chief guest, who interacted with the players of the participating teams and wished them good luck.
In the last league match of the tournament, Haryana Cricket Club defeated Saffron Cricket Club by 4 runs. Batting first, Haryana Cricket Club scored 174 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Johny scored 51, Raju scored 42 runs and Shubham scored 24 runs.
From bowling side, Rajjat took 2 wickets, while Vinod, Vikram and Ayush shared 1 wicket apiece.
In reply, Saffron Cricket Club could not chase the target and managed to score 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Arjun scored 42 runs, Ronak made 23 runs and Ayush scored 15 runs.
From bowling side, Johny took 3 wickets, Ishant scalped 2 wickets, while Vikas and Shivam shared 1 wickets each.
Johny was adjudged as Man of the Match for his all round performance.
In another second (quarterfinal) at KC Sports ground, Samar Cricket Club defeated Vishal Cricket Club by 5 wickets.
Batting first, Vishal Cricket Club scored 119 runs for the loss of all the wickets in 19.5 overs. Lakhan chipped in 63 runs, while Sourav scored 14 runs and Robin made 13 runs.
From bowling Side, Amritpal took 3 wickets, Rahil and Vishwajeet shared 2 wickets each, while Sahil and Deepak shared 1 wicket apiece.
In reply, Samar Cricket Club chased the target in 18.3 overs by losing 5 wickets thus won the match by 5 wickets. Sahil made 25 runs and Amritpal scored 24 runs.
From bowling side, Arjun, Achal and Vijay took 1 wicket each.
Manjeet was adjudged as Man of the Match for his batting performance.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Husain, Ashok Kumar, Sanju and Vijay.
In tomorrow’s fixture, KCCC will take on Khalsa Cricket Club, while Road Safety XI will lock horns with KC Sports Academy at KC Sports ground.
