JAMMU, Nov 25: Hatim Reyaz slammed a classic century, while Kamaksh Sharma scored splendid fifty and Achintya Raj Khajuria contributed superb 48 runs as Jammu and Kashmir scored 308/9 and needed 17 more runs to surpass Uttar Pradesh’s first innings’ score of 324 runs in the ongoing Under-19 Boys Cooch Behar Trophy match at JKCA Hostel Ground, here.
The match hangs in balance and there is a tough fight for the vital first innings lead. Earlier, resuming from overnight score of 19/2, Jammu and Kashmir rode on a brilliant batting display by the duo of middle-order batter Hatim Reyaz and pening batter Kamaksh Sharma and scored 308/9 in 94.2 overs at stumps on Day-2 today. Zaid Ahmed was at the crease on 13, while Mudasir Abdullah yet to come.
Hatim was in sublime touch and hit the ball with fluid grace and utter brilliance to score 112 off 185 balls, studded with 19 boundaries, while Kamaksh scored 68 off 117 balls with 9 boundaries. achintya contributed valuable 48 runs off 76 balls with 8 fours and one six.
For Uttar Pradesh, Shubham Mishra took 3 wickets, while Hitesh Kumar and Yasir Khan bagged 2 wickets each. Aditya Kum Singh and Yadhu Pradhan claimed one wicket each.
