JAMMU, June 5: High Court today granted four weeks last and final opportunity to Kewal Sharma, former additional PRO to the then Deputy Chief Minister for filing response to the writ petition alleging accumulation of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income of Kewal Sharma.
When the petition filed by Prof S K Bhalla came up for hearing, Advocate S S Ahmed drew the attention of the court to the order dated April 27, 2015 when the Court had deferred the prayer of impleading Atul Goel and Anand Jain, the former SSPs of Jammu as party respondents on the plea that it would be appropriate to provide opportunity to Kewal Sharma to file his version.
The Court had granted three weeks time to Kewal to file his response and listed the matter on May 21, 2015. But reply was not filed by Kewal Sharma just to prolong the matter and today none caused appearance on his behalf. On this, Advocate Ahmad requested the court to close the right of Kewal Sharma as matter was being unnecessarily delayed.
After considering the submissions of Advocate Ahmed, Justice Tashi Rabstan granted last and final opportunity of four weeks to Kewal Sharma to file his version in the matter and also directed the Registry to list the matter in the week commencing July 6, 2015.
