JAMMU, Feb 27: The State High Court has stayed the State Information Commission’s order directing Jammu University to provide copies of legal opinion tendered by JU Standing Counsel to third party and fixed April 27 as the next date of hearing.
The stay was granted on the JU petition for the same, claiming that in case the order impugned was not stayed, the petitioner would suffer an irrepairable loss and injury, which can not be compensated by any means.
Aggrieved of the order number SIC/J/A/177/178/2017, dated 9-01-2018, passed by State Information Commission, Jammu, through second respondent Dr Sapna Sharma, the JU prayed that implementation of the order can have serious ramifications and will open Pandora’s Box for such like cases.
It may be recalled that Dr Sapna Sharma has sought copies of the legal opinion obtained by the university in the regularization of Dr Bharti Prabhakar, Dr Pallavi Sachdeva and Dr Sandeep Singh.
