JAMMU, Aug 1: In a bunch of petitions challenging the rejection of OMR/ICR application forms, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal today directed Service Selection Board that subject to objection they shall allow the petitioners to appear in the screening test.
These petitions have been filed by Shivam Singh and others whose candidature for the post of Junior Engineer pursuant to Advertisement Notice No 3 of 2012 dated December 28, 2012 and No 11 of 2013 dated December 24, 2013 was cancelled due to deficiencies occurring in the OMR application forms.
According to the petitioners, they are eligible for the posts both on the count of age as well as qualification.
After hearing Senior Advocate SS Lehar with Advocates Amit Gupta and Kumar Anand appearing for the petitioners, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal issued notices to Chairman SSB, Secretary SSB and Administrator SSB, which were accepted by Advocate KM Bhatti.
“It appears prima-facie that errors have been committed by the petitioner while filling up their OMR forms and in the result their candidature has been cancelled  and they are deprived of taking part in selection process”, High Court said and directed SSRB to allow the petitioners to appear in the screening test at their own risk.
“Appearing in the screening test, however, shall not confer any right on the petitioners for the participating further in the selection process, which shall be governed by further orders of the High Court”, Justice Kotwal said.
