Headmaster awarded imprisonment for securing job on fake certificate

SRINAGAR, Apr 27: Special  Mobile Magistrate,  Srinagar   has convicted Headmaster of Government Middle School, who had secured his appointment  as teacher  on fictitious date of birth certificate.
The accused, namely Meharban Khan, son of  Klandar Khan of  Gojerpati Argam Bandipora,  the then Headmaster  of Government  Middle School Garoora Bandipora, has  been convicted in case FIR No  43/05 of P/S Crime Branch Kashmir and awarded punishment of three and half year imprisonment with fine of Rs 50000.
The investigation conducted by the CBK into the allegation of securing appointment as teacher by the accused on production of fictitious date of birth certificate has established that the accused at the time of submission of application form, was overage and in order to overcome the age bar, he resorted to falsification of a date of birth certificate and produced the same before SSRB and has thereby induced the authorities to select him as teacher on the basis of said fake date of birth certificate.
On the strength of cogent and clinching evidence,  the charge sheet of the case was produced before competent court of law. During the course of trial the prosecution conducted by Senior  PO,   Ab  Rasheed, on behalf of Crime Branch,  substantiated the allegation and on appreciating the evidence produced  by prosecution, the  court  convicted the accused person and awarded him punishment of three and half year imprisonment with fine of Rs 50000 .
