Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today announced a cash prize of Rs 21,000 each for the five girls who were part of the team which finished third in Gasteiz Cup, an Under-14 tournament, in Victoria Gasteiz in Spain.
‘The state government will fulfill all the expectations of these players who have brought laurels for the state,’ Mr Soren said while addressing a press conference here.
He announced a cash prize of Rs 21,000 each for Shivani Toppo, Urmila Kumari, Neeta Kumari, Sharda Kumari and Riki Kumari.
The Chief Minister also said a five acre piece of land has been identified in Ormanjhi where a residential stadium will be constructed. ‘At the residential stadium the players will be able to play and will also study,’ he said adding that necessary instructions have been issued to the concerned authorities in this regard.
The girls who were representing Yuwa India were placed third after two wins, two losses, and one draw against international teams. Earlier during the Donosti Cup, Spain’s biggest football tournament, the girls made it to quarter finals from among 36 international teams. (UNI)
