Henan Nazir slams 2nd consecutive ton, but Chhattisgarh gains 1st innings lead

JAMMU, Dec 21: J&K’s talented middle-order batsman Henan Nazir scored second consecutive century in the ongoing CK Nayudu Under-23 Trophy against Chhattisgarh today, but the hosts gained a vital lead of 132 runs over Jammu and Kashmir at Sector 10 BSP Stadium, Billai in Chhattisgarh.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 165/4, Jammu and Kashmir rode on a brilliant innings of 120 runs off 237 balls by Henan Nazir and scored 313 runs in their first innings to concede a lead of 132 runs to Chhattisgarh as they had scored 445 runs in their first essay. Henan was supported by Lone Nazir Muzzaffar (33) and Tahsin Dar (18). He hit 13 fours and one six in his magnificent knock. From Chhattisgarh, Gagandeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers, who took 6 wickets, while SK Chadda, AG Rao and Shubham Singh claimed one wicket each.
Chhattisgarh were 125/1 in their second innings at stumps on day-3 today.
Sanidya Hurkat, who scored double century in the first innings was unbeaten on 57 and PM Yadav was batting on 44 runs. Harsh Sharma was the only batsman to be dismissed on 13 runs by off-spinner Sunil Kumar.
With the final day’s play left, Chhattisgarh are already 257 runs ahead.
