JAMMU, Oct 5: Heritage School Jammu in collaboration with CBSE, Centre of Excellence, organised a two-day Capacity Building Workshop for the Social Science teachers of classes VI and X from various schools of Jammu region. It aimed at enhancing the understanding of the newly prescribed curriculum, its mechanism, as well equip the teachers with valuable tools and insights to elevate the quality of Social Science education in their respective institutions. The workshop was attended by 57 teachers from various CBSE affiliated schools from Kathua and Jammu.
Resource persons for this engaging workshop were Sonika Sharma, Principal, Gobind Public School, Dinanagar and Rakhi Gupta of DPS, Udhampur. Both distinguished educators brought a wealth of experience and expertise to the event, making it an enriching experience for the participants.
The workshop commenced with the welcome address of Principal, Akash Pradhan. Over the course of the two days, the workshop delved into various crucial aspects of social science education at the secondary level. Teachers were provided with valuable insights into the art of crafting effective lesson plans, enabling them to deliver well-structured and engaging lessons. They also learnt how to use this framework to develop higher-order thinking skills in their students, promoting critical thinking and analysis.
