Heritage School Primary Wing celebrates XIII Annual Sports Day

JAMMU, Dec 22: Primary Wing of Heritage School celebrated 13th Annual Sports Meet with enthusiasm and fervour, here today.
The theme for the day was ‘L’ EAU EST LA VIE’ meaning ‘water is life’.
Shourjo Chatterjee, Accountant General Jammu and Kashmir, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Rajeshwar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, JKP, CID HQs, Jammu, was the guest of honour.
Mumtaz Ahmed MLA, Gulabgarh was also present on the occasion.
The august gathering was welcomed by the Junior School Prefect, Ifra Sambyal, who presented the welcome address.
The sports events commenced with a well synchronised March Past by the four Houses- Legacy, Tradition, Culture and Dignity. It was followed by the Oath Administered by Atharav Dabgotra the Junior School Prefect and the declaration of the Sports Meet open by the chief guest.
The entire sports activities were woven around the theme of ‘Water is life’.
The innovative races like sponge race, balance of nature, water bottle relay and filling the bucket etc. performed on the sports arena, had the common message of importance of water in our lives and our shared responsibility of keeping this elixir of life free from pollutants. The well coordinated drill by students of classes I and II began with the Water Goddess flowing down as a gift of Nature and portrayal of dependence of all forms of life on it for their sustenance.
The grand finale of the sports event was not only a visual delight but also a reiteration of the solemn oath taken by the Heritageans to save our water resources.
The magnificent dance drama was punctuated by the thrilling races performed by children from classes I to V.
The splendid show was followed by felicitation of winners in the much awaited Prize Distribution Ceremony. The winners of races from classes I to III were decorated with medals by the guest of honour. The chief guest, accompanied by the Principal, Jagadish Singh Dhami, honoured the winners of races from classes IV and V and also gave away the prizes for excellence in Co-Curricular activities. The Best March Past Contingent Trophy was clinched by Culture House.
Sunita Gupta, Chairperson of the school, presented the mementos to the chief guest and the guest of honour.
