JAMMU, Dec 10: A group of enthusiastic students from Heritage School embarked on an inspiring three-day educational trip to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The highlight of the trip was a visit to the Space Applications Centre (SAC) and Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition (VSSE) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Students were immersed in the fascinating world of space science, learning about satellite systems, payloads, and space applications from senior ISRO scientists.
The visit began with a detailed presentation on ISRO’s history, achievements, and future space exploration projects. One of the most memorable moments was seeing the unfinished Gaganyaan capsule, India’s ambitious human spaceflight mission, which left the students in awe. ISRO experts shared valuable insights into the intricate processes involved in space missions, highlighting the societal benefits of space technology, including its applications in agriculture, disaster management, and urban planning.
A special lecture by Dr. Mehul Pandya, Group Director at SAC-ISRO, chronicled India’s lunar missions, including the success of Chandrayaan-3. The students actively engaged with the scientists, asking questions and discussing future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
In addition to the ISRO visit, the trip included visits to Akshardham Temple, Science City, and the Statue of Unity, enriching students’ learning with cultural and scientific experiences. Heritage School expresses gratitude to Dr. Praveen Gupta of ISRO for facilitating this unforgettable experience.
