REASI, Oct 22: Continuing `Nasha Mukt Abhiyan’ and intensifying the drive against drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling, teams of District Police Reasi under the supervision of SSP Amit Gupta nabbed two drug peddlers and two illicit liquor smugglers from Katra and Reasi and recovered 8.5 gms of banned drug and 43 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.
An official spokesman said that during the routine checking, at Police Check Post Nomain team of Police Station Katra led by Insp Nishant Gupta under the supervision of Kuljeet Singh SDPO Katra and SP Amit Bhasin apprehended two drug peddlers namely Ajay Singh, son of Varinder Singh from Vijaypur, Reasi and Riaz Ahmed, son of Hasan Din, resident of W.No 7 Reasi, and recovered 8.50 gm’s of banned drug-heroin from their possession.
An FIR No. 282/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Katra in this regard and investigation started.
In another incident Police team at Check Post Nomain apprehended illicit liquor smuggler namely- Vishal Sharma, son of Romesh Chander resident of Sangar, Tehsil Pouni district Reasi, during checking 18 bottles (250 ml) of JK Special whisky were recovered from his possession.
On this a case FIR No. 281/2022 U/S 188 IPC Act was registered at Police Station Katra and investigation started.
Team of Police Check Post Balini also apprehended one illicit liquor smuggler namely Yoginder Kewat, son of Shiv Pujan, resident of Katra near Kalka Mandir along with 10 bottles (180 ml) and 15 bottles (250 ml) of JK Special whisky.
On this a case FIR No. 283/2022 U/S 188 IPC Act was registered at Police Station Katra and investigation started.
