Hill Councils of Leh, Kargil to work jointly for region’s development

KARGIL, Nov 6: A historic joint meeting of Hill Councils of Leh and Kargil under the leadership of CECs Rigzin Spalbar and Kachoo Ahmad Ali Khan was held here today to share their experiences and learning.
In the meeting, both the Councils decided to work jointly in future for the overall development of the Ladakh region.
In order to continue the consultation process, it was decided that next convention would be held at Jammu and political representatives of Ladakh in Centre and State Government including Ministers, MP, MLAs and MLCs would participate in the same.
It was also resolved that both the Councils will jointly take up the relevant issues with Centre and State Governments and the periodic interaction of the two Councils will continue.
EC Agriculture Sonam Dorjey, EC CAPD Abass Abidi, EC Health Dr Sonam Wangchuk, EC Tourism Gurmet Dorjey, ECs of LAHDC Kargil Haji Ghulam Ameer, Sajeed Quazim and three Councilors from Kargil attended the meeting.
