Hindi Media Cricket Club defeats Sterlite Cricket Club by 20 runs in summit clash, lifts title trophy

Jammu, Aug 28: After 30 days of neck-to-neck tussle between the participating teams, the Hindi Media Cricket Club registered a remarkable 20 runs win against Sterlite Cricket Club in the final combat of the 1st Media-XI T-20 Tri-Angular Series organized by Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu at GGM Science College ground, here.
The participating teams were Media-XI Cricket Club, Jammu, Sterlite Cricket Club and Hindi Media Cricket Club.
In the summit clash, Hindi Media Cricket Club led by Ashwani Kumar elected to bat first after winning the toss and posted 132 runs on scoreboard for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Romi 44 runs off 27 balls remained the top scorer for Hindi Media CC, while Arun 28 runs off 38 balls was other top contributor to the total.
For Sterlite Cricket Club, Shakeel Ahmed with 3 wickets for 16 runs in his four over quota overs remained the pick of the bowlers whereas, Bablu also took 2 wickets by conceding 22 runs in four overs.
In the second inning, Sterlite Cricket Club had a decent start with openers Gourav 29 runs off 27 balls and Shakeel 17 runs of 26 balls put 40 runs on scoreboard in the six overs power play but could not capitalized as wickets kept on losing on regular interval. With 48 needed from 30 balls, Sterlite failed to reach home as the team managed to post 113 runs, thus lost the match by 20 runs. Mukul 32 runs off 28 balls remained the top scorer for the Starlite Cricket Club.
For Hindi Media Cricket Club, Sunil remained the wrecker-in-chief with 4 wickets by conceding 15 runs in his four overs spell, while Ankush also took 2 wickets in his quota overs.
The finale witnessed the presence Sham Langer, Vice President, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, who was the chief guest on the occasion. Aditi Sharma, social activist and President Aditi Welfare India Charitable Trust (AWICT) and Manjot Singh Kohli, National General Secretary, Guard of Justice and Human Rights District Director Udhampur were the guests of honour.
The chief guest on the occasion Sham Langer distributed trophies among the winners and runners-up teams, who was in all praise for the Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu for organizing the tri-angular series to promote Sports culture.
Sunil was declared as Man of the Match for his all round performance in the match beside he was also adjudged as the best batsman of the Series, while Taqdeer Singh Badal from Hindi Media Cricket Club was declared as highest wicket taker of the series.
Sachin Singh, Amit Kumar, Rahul Khatri and Aquib were the field umpires for the series.
