Hindon lifts WAC Inter Area Hockey C’ship title

JAMMU, June 19: Hindon defeated Jammu and clinched title of Western Air Command (WAC) Inter Area Hockey Championship, organized by Air Force Station Jammu at KK Hakku Stadium, here.
The aim of the event was to promote sportsmanship in hockey and select players to refine skills for further participation in superior events at Air Force and National levels.
Five teams from Western Air Command–Jammu, Ambala, Adampur, Pathankot and Hindon participated and fought for the coveted championship.
The Western Air Command Hockey team is presently the champion team among all Air Force Commands.
Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council and various dignitaries witnessed the match and awarded the winner and runner-up teams in presence of Air Commodore Ashutosh Lal, Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Jammu.
