Hiranagar Club, Nanak Nagar Club sails into next round

JAMMU, Nov 18: Hiranagar Hockey Club outplayed Bagh Bain Hockey Club, Gole Gujral by 9-8 goals, while, Nanak Nagar Club got walkover against Samba Club and sailed into the next round of the ongoing Vijay Pal Memorial Hockey Tournament organised by Hockey J&K at Army field, Bandu Rakh.
In the first half of the match, Rajinder Singh of Hiranagar Club netted the first goal, which was equalized by Swastik of Bagh Bain Club in 16 minutes.
Swastik moving ahead with passion pelted another goal in 18th minute, which Sandeep Singh of Hiranagar Club equalized in 19th minute.
Vishal Verma of Hiranagar Club thrashed another goal in the 33rd minute and the first half came to an end with a score of 3-2 goals.
In the second half, Gagandeep of Bagh Bain Club netted the goal in the 43rd minute, whereas, Sanjay Singh of Hiranagar Club pelted the goal in the 50th minute. After 4-3 score, the match became interesting and players of both the teams strived hard to win the match.
In 58 minute, Surinder Singh of Bagh Bain Club thrashed the goal and brought the score card to an equalizer (4-4) goals.
The second half ended with a draw and in plenty kicks, Hiranagar Nagar Club registered victory over Bagh Bain Club by a solitary goals and the score remained (9-8) goals.
For Bagh Bain Club side, Inderpal Singh, Surinder Singh, Daljeet Singh and Jagjit Singh converted penalty kicks into goals, whereas, from Hiranagar Club side, Navjot Singh, Digvijay Singh, Rajinder Singh, Jamroad Singh and Shelar Sharma netted the goals.
In the second match, Nanak Nagar Hockey Club got walkover against Samba Hockey Club.
On the occasion, Joginder Singh, president, Bandu Rakh Hockey Club, was the chief guest.
The match was officiated by MS Reen, Charanjeet Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Manjeet Singh, Satbir Singh, Kamaljeet Singh and GS Bakshi.
In tomorrow fixture, Sittu Club, Simbal Camp will take on Lachipur Club, Kathua, while, Singh Club, Bandu Rakh will clash with Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club.
The tournament is being organised under the supervision of Tajinder Singh.
