KATHUA, Dec 29; The irate residents of Hiranagar today protested in Ward No 1 College Road against the opening of wine shop in the area.
The protesters while raising slogans against the authorities alleged that the guidelines and rules have been violated by the authorities as the wine shop is situated 50 meter near to National Highway while as per the Supreme Court directives the Wine shop should be 500 meters away from National Highway. Besides, the wine shop is near the Degree College also and it will create public nuisance in the area.
They warned to intensify agitation in case the wine shop was allowed to open in the area and the authorities will be responsible for all consequences.
