JAMMU, Apr 29: Manwal police solved hit and run case with the arrest of truck driver.
As per police sources, yesterday one unknown truck hit a 3 year boy at Dhar Road, Nadaal, Manwal and ran away.
On hue and cry, Police Team from Police Post Manwal rushed to the spot and shifted the injured boy to PHC Manwal for treatment, where the doctor declared him as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Mohit, son of Chote Lal of Bhavanpori Tehsil Shahpur District Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. Later, the dead body was handed over to legal heirs after completing necessary formalities.
In the meanwhile, police personnel deployed at Check Point Manwal swung into action, chased and intercepted the truck viz arrested the driver.
The arrested truck driver was identified as Mohammad Yousaf, son of Mohammad Abdullah Bhat of Nowgam Tehsil Banihal District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 84/2020 under Sections 279 and 304-A IPC has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation of the case is going on.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma.
