Poonch, Aug 28: As a part of national sports week celebration district unit of sports council organised sports events in hockey, boxing, taekwondo and table tennis for boys and girls here today.
In a hockey match of girls, Sham Lal Hockey Club defeated KI Hockey Centre by 2-1 goals and in boys section Khelo India Hockey Centre defeated Power House Hockey Club by 3-1 goals. The competitions were conducted under the close supervision of Nirdosh Kumar Sharma, Manager Sports Stadium Poonch.
In boxing competition, Neha defeated Tamanna and Sadiya defeated Akhter. In Taekwondo, Mohd Shoib, Manmeet Singh, Ikmanpal Singh, Khalida Jabeen, Mehvish Majid & Sobia Majid won the gold medals. Large number of sports lovers witnessed the matches and cheered for the teams.
