JAMMU, Aug 6: Hockey J&K in collaboration with J&K Sports Council today kicked off a Hockey tournament on league cum knock out basis in connection with ‘Independence Day Sports Week’ at Green Field Gandhi Nagar, here today.
The first match was played between MBS Simbal Camp and Deshmesh Club Nanak Nagar wherein former defeated the latter by 4-1 goals. Division Sports Officer Jammu, Ashok Singh was the chief guest of the first match while SP Singh Manager Green Field along with members of Hockey J&K were among spectators of the match.
The 2nd match was played between Shaheed Bhagat Singh Hockey Club and Jammu-XI wherein Shaheed Bhagat Singh Hockey Club trounced the Jammu XI by a margin of 2-1 goals. Rajinder Singh Kuku secretary general Hockey India was the chief guest in the second match and he was accompanied by members of Hockey J&K.
The matches were officiated by Gurpreet Singh, Balmeet Singh, Tajinder Singh and D Singh, whereas Joginder Singh was the tournament Director.
