JAMMU, Nov 21: President Hockey J&K, Kanta Andotra today inaugurated 5-day 3rd Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament-2017 at K K Hakku Astroturf Stadium, here.
The 5-day tournament is being organised by Kashmir Sikh Sangat in which Khalsa Club (Gole Gujral), Vijaypur Club, AKS Club (Digiana), Bhargave Club, MRS Club (Simbal Camp), Young Star (Simbal Camp, MBS Club (Simbal Camp), Young Khalsa (Gole Gujral), Sittu Club (Simbal Camp), Deshmesh Club (Nanak Nagar), Ajit Club (Gole Gujral) and Hiranagar Club (Kathua) are participating.
Speaking on the occasion, Kanta said that sports activities under ‘Khelo India’ a Central Government scheme across the State are being promoted regularly and Hockey J&K would provide every possible help in the form of facilities to the Hockey players.
Representatives of Hockey J&K besides sports lovers in large number were present to witness the first match of the tournament.
On the first day of the tournament, MRS Club (Simbal Camp), Young Khalsa (Gole Gujral) and Sittu Club (Simbal Camp) played their first matches.
