JAMMU, Oct 31: The Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club, in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, kicked off an Under-21 Men’s Six-a-Side knockout Hockey Tournament at the Bandhu Rakh Hockey Stadium. The tournament, running from October 31 to November 3, 2024, honours the memory of Late Harbans Singh, a highly respected community leader and sports enthusiast.
The tournament’s opening day saw spirited matches with exciting results. Sahil Senior Hockey Club secured a decisive 6-1 victory over Khelo India Center. Jotveer Singh scored three goals, Shivay added two, and Tejveer Singh contributed one. Jasjot Singh scored the only goal for Khelo India Center. Sanam Singh’s exceptional play earned him the Man of the Match award.
In another thrilling match, Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club triumphed with a 4-0 scoreline. Krishan Kumar, Rohit and Mankiran Singh each scored, with Rohit leading with two goals. Rahul Kumar’s strong performance earned him the title of Man of the Match.
Chief guest Balvinder Singh (Vice President, DGPC) graced the occasion, along with dignitaries AC Jaswant Singh, Parduman Singh and Ravinder Singh (Raju). The technical officials were Dalvinder Singh (JK Sports Council), Jagjit Singh (J&K Sports Council), and others for their support.
