JAMMU, Feb 1: A Hockey Tournament was today declared open in Sub-Division RS Pura at Government Boys High School, Simbal Camp.
The Tournament is being organized by District Police Jammu under its Civic Action Programme. The inaugural function was witnessed by hundreds of spectators including Panches, Sarpanches, heads of social organizations, trade unions different Government organizations.
MLA RS Pura, Gagan Bhagat, SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand, SP Headquarters Jammu, Randheer Singh, SDPO RS Pura, Devinder Singh and SHO Miran Sahib were also present in the inaugural function. The tournament will be played on Knock-out basis in which 16 Hockey teams from Sub-Division RS Pura are going to participate.
In the opening match of the tournament played today, Army Public School, Kharian defeat New National Public School, Tali Morh by one goal whereas the 2nd match of the tournament was won by Mahant Bachittar Singh Hockey Club, Gujjran who defeated Govind Pura Hockey Club by one goal.
