He demanded that there should be a security audit of the building and official accountability must be fixed for the negligence and lapses.
“Sanctioned way back in 2011, a whopping amount of over Rs 10 crore has been spent on the building but it has developed major cracks even before its inauguration, making it quite unsafe for any kind of use in future. It has shattered the dreams of young students from over 100 villages as they were hoping for good future in terms of quality education in the area,” Sharma told reporters here today.
He further said that selection of land for construction of the college building was faulty and all standard norms were violated at that time. “The land, on which college building has been raised, is landslide prone area and it was not fit for multi-storey structure. We want to know whether the executing agency took the feedback of technical experts before starting construction work,” Sharma said.
Sarpanch requested the Lt Governor to order a high-level probe into all bunglings and irregularities committed in construction work that has now jeopardized the future of thousands of students. He said Govt should also order for immediate security audit of the building and official responsibility must be fixed in the criminal negligence so that the guilty are punished.
